Coming from multi-disciplinary engineering background and various extensive working experiences, our founder is the backbone of the Emirati Women in Engineering Network. Her ideas help shape the direction and mission of our organization as it continues to develop. Read on to learn more about Maitha.
MAITHA AL SHIMMARI
Founder and President
Maitha is currently pursuing her PhD degree in Engineering Science at the University of Oxford. She served for two years as the President of the Oxford Women in Engineering Network Committee and a member of the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Committee at the Department of Engineering Science. She holds double BSc degrees in Computer Engineering and in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, from the US. Also, she holds double MSc degrees in Electrical Engineering and in Mechanical Engineering, from the US. She has accumulated over 14 years of experience working on sensitive projects as a technical subject matter expert, advisor, and delegate in the fields of engineering, construction, energy, environment and climate change, management, artificial intelligence, government, and diplomacy.
Maitha was born in Al Ain, UAE.
